BASIC MANAGEMENT COURSE FOR SCOUT EXECUTIVES, MANAGERS, AND SUPERVISORS

The Boy Scout of the Philippines (BSP) has made another significant milestone with the conduct of the first Basic Management Course (BMC) which opened last 22 June 2015 at the Philippine Scouting Center for the Asia-Pacific Region, Mt. Makiling Los Banos, Laguna.

A total of 38 men and women responded to the call of service by joining hands as the pioneering students of the first BMC which is particularly designed for Scout Executives, Managers, and Supervisors in order to equip them with a comprehensive perspective of management by appreciating the basic management principle and skills as related to the over-all functional organization of the BSP and its operating groups.

The course is composed of nine Officers-in-Charge, eight Field Scout Executives, and nine Council Staffs, 11 Volunteer Scout Leaders from the Department of Education and another one from the Local Government Unit. This makes a right mix committed and high-spirited individuals who can best represent the 120 Local councils and 10 Scouting Regions in this important endeavor.

The BMC aims to empower the human resources of the BSP though capacity building which is among the the six key strategic areas in the BSP's Major Final Output of the Membership Growth. With the use of the wide range of interactive methodologies, the participants are expected to develop analytical and problem-solving skills while enhancing their self-confidence with the use of effective communication and presentation skills.

The Course, which is tagged as BMC 01-2015 and will lasted until 06 July 2015, is under the leadership of Dir. Florencio B. Atinyao as Course Director, with RSD Bienvenido B . Toledo and Dir. Pedro B. Penados as Deputy Course Directors for Program and Administration, respectively, and CM Eusebio Lee L. Mole as the Prefect of Discipline. The Group Counselors are RFSE Enrique H. Besenio (Daza), RSD Emelda S. Samson (Lim), RSD Jesus M. Meris (Romulo), RSD Rodolfo C. Pangilinan (Stevenot), and Dir. Arthur R. Sales (Vargas).

Acting Secretary-General Atty. Wendel E. Avisado and Acting Deputy Secretary-General Engr. Rogelio S. Villa Jr. serve as Advisers of the Course.
